Julie Campbell Tatham (1908- ) created the Trixie Belden series. She wrote the first six volumes under her maiden name Julie Campbell. In my opinion they are, by far, the best of the series. After 1959, Western Publishing elected to use house psudonyms for all of its series titles. (Both Whitman Publishing and Golden Press are divisions of Western Publishing and Lithographing Company of Racine, Wisconsin.) Thus the Trixie Belden series used the house pseudonym "Kathryn Kenny" for all subsequent titles. These titles were actually written by a variety of writers, only a few of which have been identified. 3. Kathleen Krull (1952- ) was the editor for the Trixie Belden series in the late 1970s. She wrote one volume and was working on the last volume which was to be set in San Diego, California when the series was discontinued. Drat and double drat, Trixie Belden almost visited my home town.
